It's not really about programming even though programming is part of game design. I could learn a highly technical skill with programming or I could learn what I considered the more artistic side of things which is the game design principles. “I had about $8,000 of film equipment because I was in filmmaking, still am, sold it all, had $4,000 and I financed my first app that way.
